How to Backup and or Restore your MySQL Database Using phpMyAdmin

Backup your MySQL Database

Log into your hosting or cPanel account
Locate your Databases section, expand and select phpMyAdmin.
Select the database to backup from the left navigation tree.
Click the Export tab.
Choose the Quick export method and then click Go.
An export of the database will be downloaded to your local machine’s default downloads location.

 

Restore your MySQL database from a Backup

Choose the database to be restored from the left navigation tree.
In the structures tab, scroll to the bottom and select the “Check All” check box.
Select the “With selected:” drop down menu and choose Drop.
Confirm by clicking Yes.
Select the Import tab.
Select the “Choose File” button to browse for the MySQL backup.
Then select Go.
Wait until the completed successfully message appears.
