VMWare – VMWare Tools error – Error in the RPC receive loop: RpcIn: Unable to send.

Problem

Windows event logs shows a large number of errors with the following text:

[ warning] [vmusr:vmusr] Error in the RPC receive loop: RpcIn: Unable to send.

Solution

Verify that the tools.conf file exists, if not check out how to create this file.

If the following fields exist update them from debug (default) to error, if not add them

vmusr.level = error
vmsvc.level = error

Restart the VMTools services
Monitor log, should note that these messages will stop coming
