Quick notes
If you need to check your VMware ESX or ESXi version and build number but are having issues using the vSphere Client (GUI) you can use command line via SSH session.
Once logged in type:
vmware –v
[[email protected]:~]
[[email protected]:~] vmware -v
VMware ESXi 6.5.0 build-5310538
[[email protected]:~]
